CHANDIGARH: Employees of department of public relations (DPRO) deployed at suchna kendra of Mansa Devi temple are doing whatever it takes to take care of children who get separated from their parents due to heavy rush in the ongoing navaratras.
Whenever a person or homeguard notices a lost child, the child is sent to suchna kendra where these employees act as caretakers for the missing child till they are handed safely to their parents.
''Our counter is open 24 hours to ensure every kind of support to devotees who come from distant places. We don't have a female employee at our counter but the male employees manage the children well. As soon as a child is dropped at our counter, we make announcements for the parents. We entertain and keep the children happy while they wait for their parents, even if it means buying then chocolates and ice creams, ot our own cost,'' said Rajesh Kapoor at the counter.
So far in navaratras, the department has witnessed approximately 40 cases of children who got detached from their parents.
